We already learned a lot in our first two weeks of doing CHAOS publicly and our biggest promise was that we are going to be open and honest about what it takes to be a creator in web3 and not to make one more space where you can only see the results and believe we have it all figured out. That is not true, no one knows what they are doing so we won't pretend here.
Weâre recording this video to give people a renewed sense that itâs okay to change your mind, and that the only real failure is failing to iterate on your strategy. The faster you can test, iterate and optimize, the faster you can see changes.
We created CHAOS with the goal of experimenting with co-creation in web3. Broad enough that we knew weâd allow ourselves the flexibility of changing the âhowâ â quickly, without fear.
Results look cool but we want to make the whole process more transparent, we should not feel like we are alone in chaos.
As we amped up our first two weeks of content creation, we had to narrow down that focus to hone in on the platforms we wanted to use, with the original goal of creating as much content, with as much efficiency as possible.
To maximize on those goals, we decided to focus on a lot of platforms (a large stack) and tried to create a system that would allow one piece of content to turn into many
Long videos
Cut down in to shorter clips
Posted on many platforms to test reach
Stripped into written content which is also distributed on multiple platforms
We planned out a great strategy, (which is still a great one) but it was A LOT, even shared amongst the two of us it wasn't optimized enough.
Content editing and production is a full time job, and creating an audience from 0 on any platform is not easy. We knew this, but it was reaffirmed with practice. We spent 33 hours across 10 platforms that we tracked, and realized we were fragmenting ourselves too much to make any real impact on any one of these.
With our goal of collecting wallet addresses and emails, and our demanding day jobs, we not only burnt out trying to convert our new audiences on web2 social platforms like TikTok, but also were just not having fun. Learning trends, finding audio, and hours and hours of editing had us ready to revisit why we wanted to do this in the first place.
Especially since this is not our full time job, we gave ourselves permission to change strategies and refocus on what would make this experience fun and valuable to us both, rather than pushing through what could turn into a chore.
Renewed focus on web3 tools and our web3 native audience who is already invested in our success and aligned with our ultimate mission.
Giving new web2 users who we bring in from other audiences something to onboard into and a community to support their learning journey so we donât become the bottleneck.
More engagement with our true fans â who donât need us to hold their hand every step of the way, but want to take this journey with us.
Itâs still an ambitious plan, and one that we continue to iterate on (as youâll see in the video, we literally pivoted again just before recording) â but thatâs what you signed up for by joining us on this chaotic adventure. Weâre not afraid to try new things, weâre rebranding âpivotsâ as âoptimizationsâ and weâre having a heck of a lot of fun along the way ;)
Hold our NFT? We see you :eyes: If youâve been on this journey with us from the start, come join us our Guild for more sneak peeks, roles to acquire, and chaotic behind the scenes content.
Like what you see? Thereâs more where that came from:
